Celebrating a Valued Tradition with a Record-Breaking Feat
18 August 2010, Singapore – A delight filled Mid-Autumn Festival awaits shoppers and visitors alike when they visit VivoCity from 3 to 22 September 2010. VivoCity has planned a range of activities that commemorates the ancient festival in the vibrancy of the mall. Festivities begin with the record breaking event of creating Singapore's Largest Lantern Wall. To be located at Level 3, Sky Park, the lantern wall will be made up of 1000 lanterns. Taking the shape of a traditional Chinese wall, complete with traditional roof and motif, the lantern wall creation will also take pride of place in the Singapore Book of Records on 18 September 2010.
Shoppers interested in participating in this record-breaking event are invited to register their interest at the Customer Service Counters from 3 September to 17 September. On 18 September, the first 1500 participants will be given a complimentary lantern and vouchers from VivoCity's tenants. The event will also feature contemporary as well as traditional entertainment and a variety of exciting stage games and attractive prizes.
To take the celebration of this traditional festive period onto a modern plane, VivoCity is organising an online contest for participants to match images of mooncakes with the tenants' brands. Participants with the correct matches stand to win attractive shopping vouchers.
Returning for the third year will be the popular Tangs Mid-Autumn Fair. Running from 7 September to 22 September, shoppers and visitors will be enticed by a wide variety of mooncakes, festive savouries and lanterns, both traditional and modern. Shoppers can expect to have a field day in deciding what to buy as they throng the Central Court on Level 1.
Reaffirming their belief in rewarding shoppers for their support and loyalty, VivoCity is offering carpark redemption rewards to its members who spend a minimum of S$50 a day (with the maximum of three combined same-day receipts) which can be converted to S$1 worth of parking, and capped at S$5 a day.
